Professional-Therapist.com

Welcome! The purpose of this site is to help you find a mental health professional with minimal difficulty or to get other information on the profession.

There are several types of therapy. This website deals with what is commonly known as psychotherapy or psychology. Some in this field refer to themselves as counselors. If you are seeking a physical therapist, this is not the place for you to be.

The purpose of this site is to help bring mental health professionals and people who need their services together in the most efficient manner possible. In the past several years some excellent web resources have been developed to help you find a professional. Others list every professional, based on state license databases.  To some users this is too much information too scattered to find.

Our purpose is to serve as a clearinghouse where you can go to find a link to all of the various databases and an “in a nutshell” summary of what you will find at which site with regard to resources. We also answer some very basic questions so you can proceed with your search quickly and easily.

We have added our own database of individuals who wish to use our site to display their website because it is an easy and cost effective means to do so and so they can get on with their real area of expertise, helping people in need. We hope that you will search it first then also search the others if you feel that more resources are needed.

So we can better serve your needs we have included a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page where you can get some quick answers to your questions before exploring other resources in more detail if you prefer.

Some issues addressed in our FAQ are:
